Cy Young, the legendary ace of the deadball era, has signed this Official National League Ford C. Frick baseball. The winner of 511 Major League games, Young threw over 1,300 more innings in his career than the pitcher who sits in second place on the all-time leaderboard, Pud Galvin. Young pitched primarily for the Cleveland Spiders and Boston Americans, with whom he won the 1903 World Series title. Young was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937, in the hallowed museum’s second year of existence. Young has signed this baseball, which features several other signatures including Stan Lopata and Charlie Gelbert, in black pen to the right of Frick’s stamped signature. This ball is toned, and exhibits several imperfections, however Young’s signature is unharmed and presents clearly. This ball comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A89211).
