Guitarist Scott Putesky, known by his stage name “Daisy Berkowitz”, was an original member of the industrial metal band Marilyn Manson. Berkowitz played guitar on Manson’s debut studio album, Portrait of an American Family, while also composing many of the songs that would go on to become metal classics. Berkowitz used this Teisco Del Rey ET-460 electric guitar to record the song “Dope Hat”, which would be released as one of the promotional singles on Portrait of an American Family. Berkowitz’s haunting yet mesmerizing guitar riffs were a highlight of this song, which was produced by Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor.

This guitar has an off-white wood body, with a cherry head and a metal pick guard featuring a pinstriped pattern. Volume and tone knobs, as well as a “Rhythm/Solo/Bass” knob, are located on the body of this circa 1965 guitar. Four switches, alternating between white and black, are located on the pick guard. A Teisco Del Rey logo is applied to the head of the guitar. This instrument shows moderate wear, consistent with use by the celebrated recording artist. The guitar comes in Berkowitz’s personally owned black case. This item is accompanied by a LOA from Berkowitz’s father.
