On May 14th, 2017, the New York Yankees retired Derek Jeter’s number, adding a new plaque to Monument Park before the doubleheader against the Houston Astros. Jeter deservedly joined the pantheon of great Yankees like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and others to have their number retired and the corresponding plaque in Monument Park. Offered here is an Official Major League Robert D. Manfred, Jr. stamped baseball used during the May 14th, 2017 game. The stampings and laces on this ball are pink for MLB’s Mother’s Day weekend. The ball shows solid use and Jeter has signed his name in blue pen on the side panel with a pink ribbon stamp. Jeter has also inscribed “#2 Retired 5-14-17” below his signature. This ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB713492) authenticating that his ball was used during the May 14, 2017 game as well as a COA from Steiner Sports for his signature and LOA from Steiner Sports (246665) for the game use.
