One year after he was officially named Captain of the New York Yankees by team own George Steinbrenner in 2003, Derek Jeter won the first of three consecutive Gold Glove awards in 2004 when he wore this black leather Rawling’s professional model PR0DJ2 with brown stitching and “The Gold Glove Co.” lettering in gold on an embroidered patch running along the back of the pinky finger. This 11.5-inch glove displays outstanding use with a well-pounded pocket, scuffed fingertips and most of the interior silver foil writing stamping eliminated with the exception of the model number “PR0DJ2” and “Professional Model” on the inside pinky. Rawling’s manufacturers labeling is on top of the wrist strap and the circle “R” logo is on the back of the thumb. Inside of wrist strap is stamped with factory code TP08-02 indicating the 2002 year of manufacture. Jeter’s facsimile signature is stitched onto the top of the thumb and Jeter signed the glove in bright silver sharpie on the back of the index finger with a “2004 Gold Glove Game Used” inscription on the back of the middle finger. This excellent example of a vintage game-worn Derek Jeter glove comes with full PSA/DNA LOA with MLB hologram (MT005417) affixed to inside pinky and Steiner Sports LOA signed by Jeter.
