Before he starred for the New York Yankees, Hall of Famer Derek Jeter was a standout varsity athlete at Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Jeter hit over .500 in each of his final three seasons of high school baseball, and today the K-Central Maroon Giants play on Derek Jeter Field. Jeter was selected by the Yankees with the sixth overall pick of the 1992 MLB Draft, and would go on to collect 3,465 career hits – a record for the historic Yankees’ franchise. Offered here is a 3 ½ x 5-inch black and white photograph of Jeter as a high school player for Kalamazoo Central High School. Jeter is shown in his batting stance waiting for a pitch in what was appears the photo has been taken from the first base dugout area. Jeter has signed this photo in bold black marker beneath his image running along the left-handed batter’s box. This photograph has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA (83107830) and has been graded AUTHENTIC.
