Offered is a Derek Jeter autograph on an original painting of the New York Yankees captain at bat in Yankee Stadium.  Jeter has signed the painting in silver marker at the lower left side of the image.  Painter Armando Villareal has captured Jeter at bat in his white home pinstriped uniform, looking out at the pitcher, with his Louisville Slugger bat at the ready, with his white and blue Nike batting gloves and blue wrist bands.  The lights of Yankee Stadium are reflected in Jeter’s blue batting helmet with white interlocking “NY” logo.  The artist has signed in white, “AVILLAREAL 2013” at the bottom right corner of the painting.

The full-color painting is 35 x 47 inches within a gold and brown 42 x 64-inch wooden frame.  There are small indentations along the brown wooden center portion of the frame, possibly from clamps used by the artist to hold the frame. The top left, bottom left and bottom right corners of the frame’s edge have been worn away or chipped.  There is a small dent in the wood in the upper right side, along with some peeling of the gold tone on the wood in the upper right side of the frame held in place by transparent tape, none of which detract from Jeter’s signature or the artwork.  Jeter spent his entire 20-year MLB playing career with the New York Yankees as shortstop. A five-time World Series champion, Jeter is regarded as one of the primary contributors to the Yankees' success of the late 1990s and early 2000s for his hitting, baserunning, fielding, and leadership. He is the Yankees' all-time career leader in hits (3,465), doubles (544), games played (2,747), stolen bases (358), times on base (4,716), plate appearances (12,602) and at bats (11,195). His accolades include 14 All-Star selections, five Gold Glove Awards, five Silver Slugger Awards, two Hank Aaron Awards, and a Roberto Clemente Award. Jeter was the 28th player to reach 3,000 hits and finished his career ranked sixth in MLB history in career hits and first among shortstops. There is a Steiner Sports HOLO in the lower left corner of the painting (SS181730). This item comes with a COA from Steiner Sports.
