Offered is a Derek Jeter signature on a limited edition Giclee print of New York Yankees legends. Jeter has signed his name in silver marker to the right of his image in the black and white stretched canvas over wood. Jeter is shown in his home uniform, stepping out of the Yankees dugout to tip his cap, framed by a large crowd of Yankees fans in the stands behind him. With Jeter in the dugout are the images of (from left to right): Lou Gehrig, Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Mariano Rivera and Babe Ruth. The Giclee print is signed “HOBRECHT” in black marker at the bottom left and inscribed “104/150” in black marker above the artist’s name.
Jeter became the 22nd former Yankees player or manager to have his number retired by the club when he was honored on May 14, 2017. All the Yankees pictured among the legends in this painting have had their numbers retired. The Yankees drafted Jeter out of high school in 1992, and he debuted in the major leagues at age 21 in 1995. The following year, he became the Yankees' starting shortstop, won the Rookie of the Year Award, and helped push the team to win the 1996 World Series. Jeter won both the All-Star Game MVP and World Series MVP Awards in 2000. He served as the Yankees' team captain from 2003 until his retirement in 2014. This item comes with a COA from Steiner Sports.
