Presented are the signatures of Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada and Jeremy Giambi on a reproduction color photograph of “The Flip” play. On the evening of Oct. 13, 2001, in the seventh inning of the third game of the American League Division Series between the Yankees and Athletics, Jeter was in the right place at the right time. The A’s Terrence Long smacked a Mike Mussina pitch down the right-field line, where it was fielded by Shane Spencer, who wildly overthrew both cutoff men. Jeter appeared near the first-base foul line and shoveled the ball to catcher Jorge Posada. The A's Jeremy Giambi does not slide and is tagged out to preserve a 1-0 Yankees lead.  Jeter has signed his name across his back in black marker, while Giambi has signed his name on his right leg in black marker and Posada has signed his name in black marker on his lower back. The 16 x 20-inch photo is mounted in a white paper matte with blue and white borders, within a 22 x 26 brown and black wood frame.  Below the photo on the white matte is a black and silver metal plaque with the legend “Jeter Flip to Posada 2001 ALDS”.  There is a Steiner Sports hologram in the lower right corner of the photo.
