In 2009, the new $2.3 billion Yankee Stadium became the new home for the New York Yankees, replacing the original “House That Ruth Built”.  Kingston Block and Masonry Supply, who were given the rights to work on the Stadium project, designed this stone for possible use at the Stadium.  These stones were not made available to the public and are etched with the famous, copyrighted Yankees’ logo.  While a few of these stones may exist outside the Stadium, this is the first one we have ever seen on the secondary market.

To add to the rarity of the stone, it has been signed by soon to be Hall-of-Famers Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera who played their entire careers with the Yankees and finished their careers while the Yankees played in the new Yankee Stadium.   Inclusively, Jeter and Rivera were both on the Yankee team in 2009 that concluded its inaugural season in their new stadium by winning their record 27th World Series title in emphatic fashion, shutting down the 2008 World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies in six games.

Rivera ended his career in the Majors after the 2013 season, having spent each of his 19 seasons of his legendary career with the Yankees.  Rivera combined with Jeter, who played through the 2014 season, to win five World Series titles with the Pinstripes, continuing the legacy of Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, and Berra in the Bronx.

The stone measures approximately 17 ½ x 7 ½ x 4 inches, weighs approximately 38 pounds and features a Yankees’ logo etched in color on the top of the stone. Jeter and Rivera have both signed the top of the stone in blue marker. This stone comes in a Kingston Block and Masonry Supply box. Please note that there is a small chip on the back right corner of this box. This item is accompanied by COAs from Steiner Sports individually authenticating each signature.
