Offered is the signature of Baseball Hall of Famer Dizzy Dean on a 2 x 2-inch white cut, in a 17 x 17-inch framed display. Dean has signed his name in blue ink on the white cut, which appears to be cut from a black and white photograph. There is slight bleeding of the ink.  The cut is mounted in a blue paper matte with red borders, beneath a black and white 7½ x 10½-inch reproduction photograph of Dean in a St. Louis Cardinals uniform.  Next to the photo is the legend, reversed-out in white on black, “The good Lord was good to me.  He gave me a strong body, a good right arm, and a weak mind.”

Jay Hanna "Dizzy" Dean pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals (1930, 1932-37), Chicago Cubs (1938-41) and the St. Louis Browns (1947).  He is best known for winning 30 games in the 1934 season while leading the 1934 "Gashouse Gang" St. Louis team to the National League pennant and the World Series win over the Detroit Tigers. He had a 30–7 record with a 2.66 ERA during the regular season. Dean was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (T04136).
