“The Human Highlight Film” Dominique Wilkins wore this navy jersey during his time at Washington High School in Beaufort County, North Carolina. ‘Nique was already a clear-cut star in high school, earning invites to the 1979 McDonald’s All-American Game, the Dapper Dan Classic, and more prestigious tournaments. The 1979 McDonald’s Game was one of the most stacked high-school showcases in modern history, boasting the talents of numerous Hall of Famers, including Wilkins, James Worthy, Ralph Sampson, and Isiah Thomas, yet Wilkins still stood out with a 16-point, 12-rebound performance. Washington won back-to-back North Carolina 3A titles in 1978 and 1979, with the future University of Georgia star Wilkins earning the MVP honors both times. Wilkins would go on to average 21.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game over three seasons at UGA before being selected third overall in the 1982 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Wilkins scored 26,668 points over his NBA career and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.
This Washington High School jersey has “PAM-PACK” sewn across the chest in white tackle twill. Washington High was sponsored by the local Pamaco Packing Company on the banks of the Pamaco River in Beaufort County, hence the sponsor name adorning this high school jersey. Wilkins’ number “21” is sewn on the chest and back of the jersey in white tackle twill. A Russell Athletic size “M” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. White and navy stripes accent the sides of the jersey. This jersey comes with a LOA signed by Dominique Wilkins.
