Although he was somewhat overshadowed by pitching in the shadow of the great Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale was one of the best pitchers the National League had to offer in the 1950s and 1960s. Drysdale pitched his entire career for the Dodgers, winning 209 games as well as the 1962 National League Cy Young Award. A nine time All-Star, Drysdale was a part of three Dodger World Series winning teams. Drysdale was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. After his retirement, Drysdale was a beloved television announcer until his tragic death in 1993.
Drysdale signed his name in bold blue pen across the sweet spot of the ever-slightly toned A. Bartlett Giamatti National League baseball. Drysdale’s signature projects beautifully and his signature comes with a COA from Finest Sports Collectibles (026613). Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium. Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
