Before he became a reality TV star, and before he became the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump gained fame in Atlantic City as the “savior of boxing” in the Jersey Shore casino resort. This regulation Everlast boxing glove (left hand) is autographed in bold black ink by Trump across the back of the glove. The glove is red, with a yellow “Everlast” patch on the cuff. There are black details across the back of the thumb and around the elastic cuff, and white lining on the interior of the glove.

Trump, along with promoter Don King, brought numerous title bouts to Atlantic City in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including the memorable “Once and For All” heavyweight title unification bout between Michael Spinks and Mike Tyson on June 27, 1988. Both men were undefeated at the time, and each had a claim to being the legitimate heavyweight champ – Tyson with the WBC, WBA and IBF belts, and Spinks as the “Ring Magazine” and linear champion. Trump bid a then-record site fee of $11 million to stage the fight at the Atlantic City Convention Hall adjacent to his Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino. It was the richest fight in boxing history to that point, grossing some $70 million, of which Tyson earned a record purse of around $20 million and Spinks $13.5 million. Tyson won the fight, knocking out Spinks in 91 seconds. This item comes with a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (AA50223).
