Presented is a novelty item signed by President Donald Trump. Photographs of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, along with their campaign and party logos, flank the image of Thomas Jefferson on a United States $2 bill (actual currency), under the heading “2016 Presidential Election”. The color images are printed over the green paper currency on the front. President Trump has signed his name in black marker to the right of the bill.
Issued beginning in 1976 as a Federal Reserve Note, the $2 bill features a portrait of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States on the front and the reverse features an engraving of the painting Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull. As a result of banking policies with businesses which have resulted in low production numbers due to lack of demand, two-dollar bills do not circulate as well as other denominations of U.S. currency. This comparative scarcity in circulation, coupled with a lack of public knowledge that the bill is still in production and circulation, has also inspired urban legends about its authenticity and value and has occasionally created problems for those trying to use the bill to make purchases. This item has been encapsulated and authenticated by Beckett Authentication (A71703) and the autograph is graded Authentic (00010995505).
