Presented is a custom fight robe worn by Muhammad Ali’s Cornerman, Drew Bundini Brown. Bundini would appear as part of Ali’s entourage and corner men beginning in 1963 and all the way throughout his career. Bundini was also known for being Ali’s speech writer, famous for the quote “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, your hands can’t hit what your eyes can’t see”. This fight robe was worn for a plethora of fights. It features “Bundini” stitches in red on the left breast and “Muhammad Ali” on the back. This white robe shows signs of aging such as a yellowing in its original white hue. There are very light yellow stains on the front side and sporadically throughout the robe and sleeves. Overall these stains are minuscule and as a whole the robe is in good condition. The robe is fully intact and shows no signs of holes or tears. This treasure comes direct from the collection of Lou “Booty” Beltrami, a very close friend of Muhammad Ali. Beltrami attended almost every one of Ali’s fights from 1972-on, and fight fans may remember the boxer saying hello to “Booty” on national TV when his friend could not make it in person. These bottles come with a Letter of Authenticity from the family of Lou “Booty” Beltrami.
