Before he became an action movie star whose movies have earned more than $3.5 billion worldwide, Dwayne Johnson was a fresh-faced wrestler named Rocky Maivia, a combination of his father and grandfather's ring names, making his debut in the World Wrestling Federation (now known as the WWE) in 1996. The fresh-faced Rocky came from a wrestling family and was the WWF's first third-generation wrestler. Rocky won his first match, an eight-man elimination tag match at the WWF's Survivor Series on November 17th, 1996. Johnson would change his name to The Rock during the WWF's "Attitude Era" and rose to stardom as a heel, frequently taunting the audience and other WWF members, much to the delight and disdain of fans. The Rock would rise to stratospheric heights, gaining the WWF Championship belt, retiring from professional wrestling in 2004 to focus on a career in Hollywood.
Presented here is an 8 x 10-inch photo of the Rock from the WWE's "Attitude Era" that features the young Rock with his trademark scowl, wearing his trademark "People's Elbow" pad and trunks labeled "The Rock." The Rock is standing in front of fans holding up "ROCK" in bold red letters with a poster with an image of the Rock that reads "MAN OF THE PEOPLE." The photograph is labeled "CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING," the Rock's signature catchphrase. The Rock signed across his image with a blue marker. The signature is bold, and the photograph is in great condition and comes with a COA from Steiner Sports for the signature.
