Before he became Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks began his professional career with the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues. It was in Kansas City that Banks began developing into the player who would later hit 512 Major League home runs and gain admission to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot.
This Kansas City Monarchs commemorative ball features a Monarchs logo, as well as a paragraph of text giving a short history of the team. The Monarchs years of existence, 1920-30 and 1937-1962, are stamped on the sweet spot. Banks signed on the left side of the sweet spot in blue pen. This item comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (Z13630).
