Presented here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire a complete row of five (5) Yankee Stadium seats originating from the inception of the fabled Yankee Stadium fondly known as the “House That Ruth Built,” dating from the Opening on April 18, 1923 when the Yankees played the Boston Red Sox in their very first home game. Accompanied by the rare original 1973 store display (15 X 20) which advertised Yankee Stadium seats for sale as part of a cigarette promotion at the time this rare section of five seats was removed from the Stadium by a representative of the demolition company involved in the 1973 complete renovation of the Stadium. These seats have been preserved over the decades having been repainted using the original Sherwin Williams blue paint that graced the seats prior to the renovation. Representing a real piece of American baseball history present when Yankee Stadium became baseball’s first triple-decked structure and first ballpark to be labeled as a “Stadium,” these seats witnessed dozens of World Series games and recognized triumphs of the Yankees dynasty including the feats of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris.

The accompanying promotional poster for the single seats publicly sold at the time even heralds, “When Babe Ruth hit his 60th Home Run this seat was there!” The Stadium also served as a venue for countless other historical sporting, entertainment and cultural events including professional football and boxing. While many single and several double seats were made available through promotions at the time of renovation, this is the only set of five that we know of or have ever seen.

Please note that due to the size and weight of this lot, shipping charges will be higher than normal.
