The decorated General George S. Patton has signed this 8 x 10 inch photograph. One of the most important figures of World War II, Patton was an effective commander during Operation Torch and the Allied Invasion of Sicily. His final command was the United States Fifteenth Army, which he led for several months after World War II.

This photograph shows Patton standing dramatically in the gun well of a tank. He has signed this photograph as “GS Patton”. He inscribed “To Col Milton H Patton / In sincere appreciation of his splendid service” and dated the photograph “May 9”. This photograph has been mounted on an 8 x 10 inch rigid board.
