Offered is a Hamilton pocket watch presented to Hall of Fame Chicago Bears running back Bronko Nagurski. The white gold-colored 1¾-inch solid metal watch was carried by Nagurski when he traveled and is engraved with the initials “BN” in an engraved shield on the back of the watch with accompanying scroll work engraved on the edges. The gold-tone watch face features gold numbers for the hours, with black hour and minute hands. The legend “Hamilton” is in black letters on gold at the upper center of the watch face, which features a floral scrollwork design in the background. At the lower center 6 o’clock position is a black second hand and dial. The top center of the pocket watch features the winder protected by the watch fob. Nagurski, renowned for his strength and size, was also a successful professional wrestler, recognized as a multiple-time World Heavyweight Champion. Nagurski became a standout playing both tackle on defense and fullback on offense at the University of Minnesota (1927-1929), selected a consensus All-American in 1929 and inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in its inaugural year of 1951. His professional career with the Chicago Bears, which began in 1930 and ended on two occasions in 1937 and 1943, also made him an inaugural inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963. This item comes with a LOA from the Nagurski family.
