In his illustrious Major League Baseball Hall of Fame career, Hank Aaron hit 755 home runs, leading the league in four different seasons. He hit at least 40 homers in a season eight times. Of all the long balls Aaron hit, none was more famous than the one he hit off of Al Downing on April 8, 1974. That home run was the 715th of Aaron’s career and it broke the all-time mark held by the legendary Babe Ruth. It truly was one of the most memorable moments in baseball history.
Offered here is an item recognizing such a remarkable feat - a 10K gold Hank Aaron Commemorative 715 Home Run ring, manufactured by Herff Jones. A beautiful, large round diamond highlights the face, and is set in a stadium image. “HAMMERIN HANK” is displayed in relief work along the perimeter. Two wonderfully done images of Aaron are shown on one shank of the ring, along with “Aaron” at the bottom. Appearing on the other shank is a Braves logo, with additional images of a baseball bat, ball and glove. Displayed in banners alongside the images are “715”, “4-8-74” and “HANK AARON”, while “BRAVES” reads down below. Inside of the band shows the Herff Jones and 10K marks. This ring weighs approximately 34.2 grams and is an approximate size 11.
