For a nation mired in the depths of the Great Depression, the team’s hard-nosed, win at any cost and get dirty while doing it attitude made them the team every American could relate to. Led by the wildly talented and nutty Dizzy Dean, the Cardinals fought tooth and nail for the pennant and then faced the mighty Detroit Tigers in the World Series. The Dean Brothers each won two games in a see-saw series that went the full seven games. This brilliant ball collects 16 members of the World Champion Gas House Gang. These key members have signed this Spalding Official National League Giles ball in pen including Hall of Famers Dizzy Dean, Jesse Haines, Frankie Frisch, Joe Medwick, Leo Durocher, Pepper Martin plus Tex Carlton, Buzzy Wares, Ernie Orsatti, Ripper Collins, Jack Rothrock, Bill Hallahan, Jim Mooney, Spud Davs, Paul Dean, and Bill Walker. The ball is in exquisite condition with just slight toning and the signatures appear crisp and bright. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA (BB33030) for the signatures.
