Calling someone "The Babe Ruth" of any sport is a tall order, but if anyone in the history of professional wrestling deserves that title, it's Hulk Hogan.

Like Ruth, Hulk Hogan totally dominated and revolutionized the sport, bring it from small high school gyms and National Guard armories to Madison Square Garden and prime time TV. Over his 30 year career Hogan won an astounding 12 World Championships and was the longest reigning champ during the 1980's - the sport's Golden Era. When Hogan entered the sport in the late 1970's his blonde hair and good looks separated him from the usual wrestlers, making him perfect for the role of the face of the sport. His dynamic personality and larger than life persona (easy for a 6'-8" 300lb giant), made him the most popular wrestler in the history of the sport. Almost single-handedly, Hogan made the annual Wrestlemania matches almost as big as the Super Bowl, and 35 years after his first bout he's as popular as ever. Beside's Hogan's blonde fu manchu mustache (which has never come up for auction), these trademark mustard colored boots are the one item you think of when The Hulkster comes to mind. As loud and brash as the man himself, his Kondou boots are circa 1988 - right during Hogan's prime.

The size 12 boots display tremendous match use with much creasing of the leather and various scuffs and abrasions. The white rubber tread shows wear from his many miles inside the squared circle. Each boot has a Kondou label sewn inside the shaft and both have their white laces intact. The best part about these boots is Hogan's personalized inscription written in silver pen, putting to rest any doubts whether or not wrestling is real: "These are my real boots with my real blood on them from MSG". Proof doesn't get any better than that. While we cannot be totally positive which match or matches Hogan donned these boots, photos of 1988's SummerSlam I held at Madison Square Garden shows him in this exact style boot (for the record Hogan teamed up with "Macho Man" Randy Savage to shred Andre The Giant and Ted DiBiase - future Minnesota Governor Jesse "The Body" Ventura refereed). A spectacular piece of wrestling history from the sport's greatest decade from its biggest star. Letter of Authenticity from renown shoe collector Bill Fiske. A video of Hulk Hogan holding and discussing these boots can be seen on our website. From Heroes of Sport card series.
