This official American League Baseball has been signed by 34 members of both Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Senators World Series participants plus the most famous spectator of that Series – Babe Ruth. Ruth was in attendance as part of a Christy Walsh promotion for Ruth, who was not playing in the World Series for a second straight season, to pen a (ghost-written) syndicated column commenting on the Series. Honus Wagner was also writing a similar column. So even on the rare occasion when his Yankees missed a World Series berth, Babe Ruth was still the focus. On this blue-and-red stitched baseball Ruth has penned his name on prime sweet-spot real estate. Ruth's iconic blue-ink signature rates "6-7" in strength, and he is joined by 26 Pirates and 8 Nationals whose script ranges from "6-10" averaging "8". Includes: PITTSBURGH - Adams, Aldridge, Barnhart, Bigbee, Max Carey ("6-7"), Fred Clarke ("6-7"), Culloton, Kiki Cuyler ("9-10"), Ens, Gooch, Grantham, Haas, McInnis, Bill McKechnie ("6"), Meadows, Moore, Morrison, Onslow, Rawlings, Sheehan, Smith, Spencer, Thompson, Pie Traynor ("8"), Wright, and Yde (who scored the tying run in Game 7’s bottom of the 8th inning). WASHINGTON - Goose Goslin ("8"), Bucky Harris ("9", on ball label), Walter Johnson ("9"), Ogden, Peckinpaugh, Ruel, Ruether, and Zachary. Two separate side panels of the lightly toned, red-and-blue-stitched OAL ball display the handwritten notation, "October 1925." This is a tremendously signed “World Series” baseball with the addition of the most famous and desirable signature in all of sports history. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication, cert number X91310.
