     Offered is an original black and white photograph of Jackie Robinson sliding into home plate while eluding the tag of New York Giants catcher Wes Westrum. This photograph, which measures 7 x 9 inches, was used for an article after the passing of Robinson on October 24, 1972. The back of the photograph has been stamped “INTERNATIONAL NEWS PHOTOS” with a cutout of a newspaper clipping that has a headline “Man’s Tribute to Jackie” with the same image being used for the article. The photo displays wear with the corners bent and various cracks present throughout. The photograph also has curled up, but is otherwise good condition. This photograph has been classified as a Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA (1P06864).
