Known as one of the fastest men to ever play baseball, his long-time teammate Satchel Paige once said James “Cool Papa” Bell could turn off a room’s light switch and be in bed before the room became dark. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1974. Offered is this 8 x 10 inch black and white photograph of “Cool Papa” standing in his Cuban League Cienfuegos team uniform leaning against his bat. Bell played for the Cuban team from1928-1930. Bell signed his name in green marker n the bottom of the photograph and inscribed “My best Wishes From James “Cool Papa” Bell”. There is also another player in the background swinging a bat. This signed photograph comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B53121).
