Super Bowl III MVP and 1985 NFL Hall of Fame Inductee Joe Namath has autographed this New York Jets full size replica helmet. Namath was the first overall pick in the 1965 AFL draft and went on to be named the 1965 AFL Rookie of the Year. In 1967 he became the first professional quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a 14-game season. The following year, 1968, Joe was awarded the Hickok Belt as the top professional athlete of the year. He started 1969 off with a bang as well. Leading his underdog New York Jets to a 16-7 victory over the NFL’s heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. A victory which he boldly “Guaranteed” three days earlier. This gleaming white with green stripes Riddell helmet features the iconic “JETS” logo on the right and left sides. Hall of Famer Namath signed “Joe Willie Namath” and inscribed “X12” on the right side of the helmet with a black fiber tip marker. The signature is bold, and the helmet is in fantastic condition and comes with an LOA from JSA (X93143) for the signature.
