This note was handwritten by John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States. It was written in September of 1960, near the end of Kennedy’s ultimately successful presidential campaign. This note reads in full, “Boyer says that I must have Brown straighten things out with his brother whom Brown “Humiliated” – I say the hell with him”. This brusque note typifies the no-nonsense Kennedy, a veteran of World War II. He wrote this note on the back of a yellowed “Letter Carrier-O-Gram” from the Letter Carriers of Lubbock, who thanked him for his favorable voting record in Congress.
This page measures 8 ½ x 11 inches, and the note was written in black ballpoint pen. The letter is in excellent condition, save for the folds where it was placed in an envelope. This item is an incredible piece of history from one of America’s most popular and remembered leaders. This item comes with an LOA from JSA (Z02612).
