Offered is “The Greatest” captured in time, in a beautiful resin statue of the three-time heavyweight champion of the world, signed by Muhammad Ali on the white base with black ink.

Ali came to prominence when he won the Olympic Gold Medal as a light heavyweight in the 1960 Rome Games, when he was known as Cassius Clay. Turning pro shortly thereafter, Ali won the heavyweight championship of the world when he knocked out Sonny Liston 1962, and held the title through 1967. Due to his political and religious beliefs, and his refusal to accept induction into the Army, Ali was suspended from boxing for almost seven years, before making his comeback. In June 1974, Ali was once again the heavyweight champ after knocking out the heavily-favored George Foreman in the eighth round in the legendary “Rumble in the Jungle.” Ali continued to dominate the boxing world in the 70s, but lost the title in an upset to Leon Spinks in February 1978 in Las Vegas. Over a year later, on July 27, 1979, Ali regained the crown with a knockout of Spinks in New Orleans, the first heavyweight to ever win the title three separate times. After the fight, Ali retired, but came back briefly for two final bouts (both losses) before leaving the ring, for good, with a lifetime 56-5 record, including an amazing 37 victories by knock-out.

One of a limited edition of 400, the hand-painted statue is 9 inches high, and features the Champ with white boxing shoes, black trunks with white detail, red Everlast gloves with white lacing. He’s coming right at you, moving forward in the ring, connecting with the right fist, with a defiant grin on his determined face. You can almost hear him saying, “I am the Greatest.” The felt-covered base is approximately 5 ½ inches in length, 4 ½ inches wide. Ali’s punch extends approximately 3 inches from the base out to the front. It is accompanied by a signed COA from Rick Salvino, President of Salvino Sports Legends and comes with the original box.
