The first world champion from the West Indies Island of St. Kitts, Livingstone Bramble shocked the boxing world with a 14th round knockout of Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini in Buffalo, New York on June 1, 1984 and bested Mancini again in their rematch seven months later. The colorful and animated Bramble cultivated a controversial image, casting himself as a voodoo practicing Rastafarian who lived with four pit bull terriers, two alligators, eight exotic birds, one iguana, a monkey and five-and-half foot long boa constrictor that he used to wear around his neck when he entered the ring. But ultimately he was just one of the toughest fighters of his era. This size 13, 26.8-gram,15 point diamond 10K gold Balfour ring was presented to his own legendary trainer Lou Duva. The top of the ring contains a diamond set in the middle of a WBA logo with a pair of fighters facing each other from either side of a globe underneath a pair of boxing gloves and a royal looking crown. “World Boxing Association Champion” is written in raised lettering around the ring’s perimeter and “June 1st 1984 Buffalo, N.Y. 14 RDS. KO.” is engraved on the right shank with “Livingstone Bramble” engraved on the left. Ring remains in very good condition and comes with Elite Sports Marketing LOA signed by Lou Duva.
