After losing four straight to the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS after being up 3 games to 0, the New York Yankees opened the season at Yankee Stadium and took two of three from the Red Sox. It was the start to Derek Jeter’s 10th season – the halfway point of his illustrious career. After a 3-3 home stand to open the 2005 season, the Yankees traveled to Fenway Park as the Red Sox celebrated their 2004 World Series Championship at their home opener. The Yankees would lose to the Angels in the ALDS.

Jeter boldly signed this jersey below the “York” on the left chest in black Sharpie. Also, he inscribed “2005 Game Used” underneath his signature. Both signature and inscription are clean and clear. The button-down jersey boasts white-blue tackle-twill “New York” arced across the chest. A similar tackle-twill “2” is found on the reverse. Sleeves are trimmed in blue-white-blue elastic cuffs. A red-white-blue embroidered MLB logo adheres to the external rear collar. Affixed to the Majestic Authentic Collection tag on the left hip is a small, white tag printed with “2005” and a smaller “48” size tag. Inside the left seam is sewn a laundering instruction/material tag.

Jersey shows light game use. An LOA from Yankee-Steiner Collectibles accompanies this item, authenticating its game use and a COA authenticates the autograph.
