After one of the greatest rookie campaigns on record, Mike Trout’s spectacular 2013 season was one for the books posting league leading numbers with 109 runs scored with 33 stolen bases with 27 home runs, 97 RBI and a .323 batting average, Trout narrowly missed adding an MVP award to his Rookie of the Year season. This un-cracked, 33.5-inch, 33.3 ounce Old Hickory model J143M Mike Trout professional model bat was used by Trout during the 2013 season and displays excellent evidence of use with a heavy amount of white ball marks and blue ink transfers on its shiny black barrel. Cleat marks are also evident on the barrel with a moderate coat of Mota Stick on the upper and lower handle and Trout’s signature spiral taping wrapping the knob. A mark on the handle identifies the face grain of the bat as per Major League Baseball’s mandatory ruling for all Maple bats since January 2009. Trout signed the bat in bright silver sharpie with a “27” inscription close to where is name, “33.5 Pro Maple J143” and number: 1212177-MT19 (signifying the December 2012 date, 177 work order and Trout’s initials, and 19th bat in the order) are branded into the bat’s barrel. Trout’s “MT” initials are written on the knob in light pencil and the bat comes with PSA/DNA certification #1B08522 for the bat and #X52522 for the signature. Angels team LOA.
