An absolutely fascinating gallery of 61 vintage card collectibles is presented. Hall of Famer. Beginning with pioneering baseball superstars of the 19th Century, seen on N172 Old Judge examples (Billy Sunday, J.M. Ward), and progressing through to 1930s Goudey (Hubbell) and into 1952 Topps "High Numbers" (Campanella), this assembly holds cards from issues that are routinely difficult for the hobbyist to obtain. Along the way, an appreciative viewer's perusal will yield the sight (often in multiples) of such stars as Mathewson, Feller, Cobb, Speaker, Waddell, Brouthers and others, as well as several (Berra, Campanella, Snider) in Rookie Card entries. Most of these items exhibit at least one condition liability (stain, trim, paper loss, back damage) that would prevent a favorable grading outcome, if submitted, but the cards' inherent beauty and scarcity largely compensate for this nominal shortcoming.
