This pitching pose – with its sublime, artistic likeness of the great hurler – is an absolute classic within the collecting hobby. As revealed on the choice collectible offered here, Mathewson's image is well-focused, boasts strong colors and contrasts well against its lush blue and green background. The item's corners are well-defined. Attractive color throughout, in combination with fundamentally uncirculated white borders, gives this card extraordinary eye appeal. The piece's reverse is deeply printed, and its "Piedmont" advertisement projects marvelously. A stately and fresh, barely circulated insert, in Near Mint condition.
