Graded PR 1 by SGC. Hall of Famer. This scarce, 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" memento, issued by the Detroit-based H.M. Taylor company between 1907 and 1909, delivers a fabulous image of one of the era's most powerful teams. This is a key subject in the elusive and desirable, seven-card release that showcased the hometown Tigers. Sam Crawford and Ty Cobb – seated behind Manager Hughie Jennings – are notable team members shown in the black-and-white depiction. Evidence of past circulation consists of mild peripheral wear, a notation in ink along the obverse margins and writing/stamping indicative of postal use, as intended, on the back. A seldom-encountered, regionally produced and distributed collectible, in technically assessed Poor condition.
