A near miss after receiving 74.8 percent of the mandatory 75 percent of the vote to enter the Hall of Fame in 2014, former Houston Astros second baseman Craig Biggio remains a good bet to find his bust enshrined in the halls of Cooperstown, likely in 2015. This game-used cream Houston Astros button-down home jersey comes from Biggio’s 1992 All-Star season. “Astros” appears across the chest of the jersey in navy blue-on-white tackle twill with the team’s star logo below in matching style. “BIGGIO” appears across the back of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill on a stitched cream name plate, with his number “7” below in navy blue-on-white tackle twill. The shoulders of the jersey feature rainbow coloring extending from the sleeves to collar, which Houston sported from 1989-93. The front tail of the jersey features a Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag, size 42, with a white strip tag below that reads “7-42-92” indicating Biggio’s number, and the jersey’s size and year. A tag also is found on the inside collar indicating the jersey is made from “INTERNA” fabric. Astros COA and LOA from noted jersey expert Dave Miedema. Congrats to this newly elected hall of famer!
