Scottish born American steel industry magnate and noted philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie was also a scholar and essayist who chronicled a family tour of the United Kingdom in his 1883 book, An American Four-In-Hand in Britain; an original signed 1888 copy of which is offered here. Carnegie personally inscribed this copy on its dedication page “To Mrs. Cleveland—the woman, with genuine regard Andrew Carnegie” in broad sweeping fountain pen ink.This book was signed and inscribed to First Lady of the US, Mrs Frances Cleveland This more than 125-year-old, hard-bound 338-page volume remains in very good condition and comes with PSA/DNA LOA.
