The Tampa Bay Lightning’s former IHL minor league affiliate, the Detroit Vipers won four-straight division titles from 1994-95-1998-99, capturing the league’s championship Turner Cup in 1996-97. This impressive hunk of IHL hardware was presented to Vipers left-winger Darren Banks and contains the Vipers red and green enamel painted logo over a bed of more than two-dozen diamonds (50 points of diamonds/carat) with “IHL 1997 Turner Cup Champions” in raised gold lettering around the bezel’s perimeter. “Road Warriors” is engraved on the right shank above the image of three trophies with the team’s league leading “57-17-8” record at the bottom. The opposite shank has the name “Banks” above the image of a hockey player and arena with the number “24” at the bottom. “IGO” and “10K” are engraved on the interior band and the ring is contained in a 4” x6” wood presentation box with a “Detroit Vipers 1997 Champions Darren Banks” engraved plaque and Banks signed the underside of the box in bold black sharpie with a “#24” inscription; Size 13, 37.5-gram, 10K gold ring remains in very good condition.
