Presented is a partly engraved document signed Thomas Jefferson as President and James Madison as Secretary of State. This one page, measuring 10-1/2” by 14-3/4” was produced on vellum and is dated November 28, 1806. As with nearly all shipping documents of the period the top edge is scalloped and the piece features the paper Seal of the United States affixed with red wax at lower left. Naval vignettes adorn top and there are minor, although normal, flaws and folds. The framed measures 36-1/2" by 23-1/2" with minor scratches present. A full photo LOA from PSA/DNA comes with the item.
