Jose Altuve’s record-setting 2014 campaign established the Houston Astros second baseman as a legitimate star in the making. The highlight of Altuve’s All-Star season was his journey to the top of Houston’s all-time, single-season hits list. Altuve finished the year with 225 hits, moving past longtime Astros great Craig Biggio (210). This signed, game-used Tucci Lumber TL-NS33-M model bat in clear-finished maple was used by Altuve to collect his 200th hit off Seattle pitcher Danny Farquhar on Sept. 10, 2014. Altuve signed the bat in bold, black sharpie below a three line inscription that reads “Game Used 2014,” “AL Batting Champ,” and “Hit # 200.” The bat shows moderate signs of game use, including baseball stitch impressions, as well as cleat and rack marks on the barrel. The bat’s handle is layered in pine tar and the knob boasts a Tucci Lumber manufacturer marking. The signed, game-used bat comes with certification from PSA/DNA (X48441) and the MLB Authentication program (HZ 508810).
