Don Sutton was a model of consistency during his 23-year Hall of Fame career pitching for five different franchises. Sutton won 15 or more games 12 times and his 3,574 strikeouts are seventh-best in MLB history. This signed pair of game-used Nike cleats come from Sutton’s tenure with the Milwaukee Brewers from 1983-84. Sutton signed the outside of the right shoe in a light-colored marker, though it has blended slightly into the navy blue leather on the cleats. The heel on both cleats features Sutton’s number “20” written in black sharpie, with the letter “D” below the Nike logo. The right cleat boasts reinforcement on the toe to account for Sutton’s pitching motion. A faded series of numbers is printed on the inside of both cleats, with size “9 ½” visible on the right shoe. The signed cleats shoe heavy signs of game use, with the bottom spikes still holding dirt over 30 years old. The signed, game-used cleats come with a Mears LOA.
