On June 28, 2012 Derek Jeter hit a 7th inning single against the White Sox at Yankee Stadium. For the Yankee Captain it was his 3,184 hit and more importantly it tied him on the career hits list with his boyhood idol – Cal Ripken, Jr. When asked about the moment, Jeter responded, “…I’ve told you …what he has represented to the game, being a shortstop, he is someone I’ve always admired…” Jeter has continued to establish personal and team milestones, surpassing Mickey Mantle as playing in the most games wearing a Yankees uniform in 2012. Jeter's hard style of play and team spirit has endeared him to countless fans and has earned him All-Star status, Gold Glove Awards and 5 World Series rings to date. Offered here is the original Yankees line-up card from that historic day. MLB Authentication.
