This is an original pair of Civil War era stirrups used to hold a soldiers feet when mounting, riding and controlling their horse. Commonly attached to the McClellan saddle used by the U.S Cavalry throughout the Civil War. These well constructed leather clad wooden stirrups are embossed with the army’s “US” identification on the leather.
