This original 11 x 14 1950’s photo of Steve McQueen was a foreshadowing of the actor that would become a top box office draw of the 1960’s and 1970’s and, by 1974, would become the world’s highest paid actor. It also provides a candid image of the young man that would later be dubbed "The King of Cool." McQueen received an Academy Award nomination for his role in the 1966 film and appeared in a number of other popular films including The Thomas Crown Affair, Bullitt, The Getaway, Papillon, The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, and The Towering Inferno. The back of the photo indicates it is an original image taken by photographer Roy Schatt of New York and has been signed by Mr. Schatt.
