Philadelphia Phillies Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt was a dominant force during his 18-year Major League career, which included a World Series title and MVP in 1980. An eight-time home run champion, only Babe Ruth connected on more single-season home runs than Schmidt in baseball history. “Schmitty” used this signed Rawlings 154A model bat during the 1985 campaign. The un-cracked bat features Schmidt’s signature on the barrel in bold, green sharpie and shows outstanding evidence of game use, including a heavily taped handle and Schmidt’s number “27” written in green ink on the knob. The bat model “154A” also is engraved on the knob. The flame-burned finish ash bat measures 35 inches and weighs in at 33.5 ounces. The signed, game-used Schmidt bat is PSA/DNA authenticated; certification numbers “X97461” and “1B04218.”
