The prospect of replacing Joe Montana was no enviable task, but two NFL MVPs, seven Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl XXIX win later, Steve Young successfully proved he was up for the challenge. A 2005 NFL Hall of Fame inductee, Young wore this signed 49ers white road jersey during a 1995 campaign that saw the signal caller earn the fourth of his seven-straight Pro Bowl selections. The mesh jersey features Young’s number “8” on front, back and both shoulders in red tackle twill. “YOUNG” appears across the top back of the jersey in red tackle twill on a white name plate. Young signed the jersey in black sharpie on the center of the “8” on the reverse side. The front left tail of the jersey boasts a “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with a size “44” label attached. Next to the manufacturer’s label is a white strip tag that reads “95” for the jersey’s year. The jersey shows light evidence of game use and is accompanied by a COA from the 49ers. Young’s signature also has been verified by PSA/DNA.
