In the July 5, 2013 game when Boston played the Angels, the Red Sox were clinging to a 3-2 lead in the 8th inning, when pinch hitter David Ortiz stepped to the plate with a man on base. He promptly blasted a two-run homer to give the Red Sox some breathing room. This button-down blue alternate jersey was worn by Ortiz that game. It features “BOSTON” across the front with the “Majestic Authentic” painted tag on the lower front tail, just above a white strip tag with “34 50 ‘13” stitched in black thread. The MLB hologram sticker (EK 707809) is affixed to the Majestic tag. The reverse has his name “ORTIZ” and number “34” stitched directly to the “Cool Base” jersey. The left shoulder contains the “B STRONG” patch, honoring the victims from the tragic Boston Marathon bombing. This is a great jersey worn by the 2013 World Series MVP during one of the biggest hits of the season. MLB Authenticated game worn jersey.
