The epic finale in the Ali/Frazier trilogy of heavyweight bouts, the “Thrilla in Manilla,” a bruising confrontation that lived up to all expectations. It was a defining moment in each fighter’s career with Ali earning a victory by technical knockout when Frazier’s corner threw in the towel after the 14th round. Sports artist Leroy Neiman created this 11.5” x 15” pre-fight promotional poster in a 15” x 19.25” matte. The dual portrait of the combatants that is signed by all three principles. Ali and Neiman’s signatures appear in bold black sharpie while Frazier’s is in black ball point ink. Neiman added another signature in black ball point ink as well with a “‘80” inscription and his facsimile signature is also on the print which is surrounded by text reading: “The Saga of Our Lifetime, Ali (top) Frazier (bottom) “Thrilla in Manilla” –Tues., September 30 Philippines 1975.
