Rated as the No. 3 prospect heading in the 2014 season by Baseball America, MLB.com and BaseballProspectus.com, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras seemingly had a very bright future in front of him. Taveras, handed his first shot to make an impression in the Big Leagues, appeared in 80 games for the Cardinals in 2014 before tragically dying in a car crash in his native Dominican Republic following the season. Offered is a signed, game-used pair of Under Armour cleats from the late Taveras. The red size 11 shoes feature Taveras’ signature on the inside toe region of both cleats in bold, black sharpie along with the inscriptions “2014.” Under Armour logos appear on the top of the foot and heel of the “compfit” model cleats. The bodies of both cleats are in remarkable shape, though they do show strong signs of game use as evidenced by the areas of dirt affixed to the bottom of the shoes. The signed, game-used cleats are PSA/DNA pre-certified and come with a signed LOA from Taveras.
