Mike Trout’s journey to winning the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year award made a stop in Boston on Aug. 23, when the new face of Major League Baseball went 3-for-6 against the Red Sox with two RBIs and a pair of steals and runs scored in a wild 14-13, 10-inning win. Trout signed this Rawlings OAL Selig baseball from that contest in blue ballpoint pen on the sweet spot. The baseball shows heavy signs of game use, including bat impressions and several areas of dirt staining and scuffing. The south panel of the Trout-signed baseball features a commemorative “Fenway Park 100 Years” logo. The signed, game-used baseball comes with a JSA LOA, verification number “Y05711” and is certified under the MLB Authentication program, number “EK166373.”
